Currently we are accepting applications for the Spring Subsidy Phase of LIHEAP. The Spring Subsidy component operates on a first come, first serve basis and will be in operation until June 30th 2020 or until funds have been exhausted.

Applicant’s household income must be at or below 150 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. For the Subsidy Component of LIHEAP, residents can apply regardless of the status of their utility bills.

Instructions for uploading your documents
Please complete the application and prepare all required documents as listed in below section. Once you are ready, please visit https://nkcac.cascheduler.com/fileupload/ and login with SSN, name, contact phone and email and click "File Upload" button. Or download and install from below Mobile App link and click "Upload Documents" button. If you have already scanned documents, use file browser to navigate to the appropriate folder and select the files to upload. If you do not have scanned documents, use "camera" option to take a picture of each page and upload it.
Note: If you are using phone camera, please make sure to lay the document on a flat table and hold the phone camera steady at a distance to cover the entire document and it is well focused.
Please upload the documents atleast 24 hours prior to appointment date.

Instructions for joining video conference
At your appointment time, you will receive a meeting invite via Text and/or Email and/or phone call. You just simply click on the link or copy & paste the URL on to a browser. Or download and install from below Mobile App link and click "Start Video Chat" button. Enter your meeting ID and last 4 digits of your SSN and click "Start Video Chat" button.

Failure to submit all required documentation will delay your assistance. We require below documents:

  • Proof of all household member's income from previous month (Social Security, SSI, Railroad Retirement, VA Pension can ONLY be verified from Award/ Benefit Letter issued by Social Security Administration)
  • Social Security cards of everyone in household
  • Current electric bill
  • Current bill or invoice with account number for bulk fuel (Propane/ fuel oil, Wood)
  • Social Security Cards for Everyone in the home
